Tips on how to choose your PHOTOGRAPER, BOOK your session, pick your locations, and picking your best outfits.
Choosing your photographer.....
How to choose your photographer? For many people this can be a difficult decision, as there are so many different photographers in your area that bring their own unique skills, editing styles, and posing styles.
First, you want to look at their portfolio check out their recent work. Do you like their editing style? Is it consistent? Do the skin tones look natural?
Second, do you like their posing style? Is the posing awkward? does it look natural? does it look forced?
Third, are the packages what you are looking for? Does their pricing match your budget?

Booking your sessions.....
Once you have chosen the photographer, now it is time to book your session. When booking your session think of locations, seasons, and what type of scenery you are looking for. If you are not sure, I suggest going through your photographer's website and see if any locations and or seasons fit what you are imagining.
Last step is payment for your sessions, please be sure to discuss down payments and payment options and forms of payment with your photographer.

Choosing your locations.....
Choosing your locations can be challenging everyone wants that perfect backdrop to bring their images to life. Here are some things to think about when choosing your locations. What season are you choosing for your session? not sure? What season makes you the happiest? Do you like a beautiful spring with lots of beautiful blooming flower fields? These sessions are typically done April to June. Do you like the bright sun shining on you? A beautiful sunset in the background on a warm summer day? Choose a beautiful beach session. These sessions are typically done from May to September.
Do you like beautiful fall colors? Choose a beautiful nature preserve that has lots of trees with a verity of colors. For the best fall sessions, I recommend booking between October and November. How about the beautiful winter snow? These look great at a nature preserve that has tall pines, running streams/lakes, or bridges. If you are undecided on what locations to choose reach out to your photographer, he/she can help you decide.

Picking out your best outfits.....
Choosing your outfits can be challenging as senior portraits are an important milestone in a person's life so you want to look your best! Here a few tips to help you choose the right outfit for your session.
First, what season are you having your session done in?
Spring? think of bright colors, light blues, pinks, whites, purples, yellow, and khaki. This can be a beautiful white dress to dance around in the flower fields or a cute white or blue button down with khaki shorts.
Summer? Kinda like spring, bright colors light blues, pinks, whites, purples, yellow, and khaki.
Fall? think of the color of the trees when they change for the season. Burnt orange, different shades of browns, rustic yellow/ mustard yellow, olive color greens. Navy blues and black also great in the fall colors. This can be a warm comfy sweater and jeans to a button-down flannel and jeans.
Winter? Darker colors are your best choice when having a winter session. Navy blues, blacks, reds, and burgundy.
Last tip, whatever you choose to wear to your session the most important part is to make sure you are comfortable and bring your best smile!
RELAX and ENJOY your session this is your time to shine!
Having your picture taken can be stressful to anyone, especially when you are not a photogenic person. Before your session you can always go to your photographer's website or photography page Facebook/ Instagram for references on best posing for seniors. Practice some posing Infront of your mirror, Infront of your parents, or even your bestie before your session this can always help you feel more confident at your session. I always say bring your best smile, relax, and let your photographer guide you. Be natural let your body move freely, enjoy the experience, and have fun!
